ONIKAI has a Fashion’s Night Out!

7am the morning of FNO. Ironically my 6pm fitting ran late and I ended up wearing this Rambo look to my events just changing my outfit.

My gf Steph & I at the Paul Frank Red Carpet Event. I do not look happy in this photo lol I think at this point I needed coffee but was replacing it with free cocktails.

Celeb dj taryn manning

There were lots of celebs in attendance, but most entertaining of them all was def Aubrey O'day who looks JUST as funny in person as she does in photos. I'm not a hater but I WILL tell you if your outfit sucks lol and Miss. O'day never fails to a) wear way too much makeup that doesn't match her real skin tone b) press her hard as a rock fake boobs against you and c) wear something too shiny, too flashy and too tacky.

Look at all the blondes. (lol)

Ready for a story? It will be at least semi entertaining I promise: Last FNO I had the flu (noooo!) so this time around I was super pumped to go out, dress up and enjoy the overall ambiance that is Fashion’s Night Out!  My good friend Steph and I started the night out by attending the Paul Frank red carpet event in Hollywood with our friends Jlo & VB.  Needless to say I was running behind as usual and was still adorning my Rambo like headband from the work day, could not find my shark tooth necklace and of course was covered in dog hair… luckily I found a lint roller [THANK GOD].  The PF event was filled with colorful PF adorned decor all over, a henna tattoo station, an open bar that literally had the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted, a clothing station, a candy “bar” and surprisingly a very good dj.  MUY BUENO.  Did I buy anything? NO! there were gift bags lol besides if I want a crazy monkey printed on my clothing I’ll just tape a photo of Denny the puppy onto my couture and call it a day!
After the event (that we probably would have stayed longer at but it was a million degrees inside) we headed over to the Kitson Party on Robertson where, might I add, I slowly sipped the strongest raspberry vodka concoction I have ever had… eventually retiring it only a 1/4 way devoured and dreaming of a soy latte’.  Serious.  Passing many boutiques on our way down Robertson, and many many blondes and cute hipster gay boys in faux fur we ended the evening at the Curve boutique event which was pretty much a HUGE dance party in the front room of the store. Perfect? I think so.  FNO I heart you.

Vera Wang’s THREE wedding dresses for Kim Krazy Kardashian. Que?

I am in love with looking at sketches from other designers, and when I saw the wedding dress sketches of Vera Wang’s custom couture for Miss. K I swooned.  Although I can hardly understand why any normal person would need three wedding dresses, I can still appreciate the amazing fashion involved.  The classic sweetheart bodice princess gown with tulle skirt is my favorite. <3

I might be obsessed with…

Bottega Veneta gown

Elie Saab Haute Couture

Oscar de la Renta gown

Jennifer Meyer earrings

I think I might be obsessed with Emma Watson… her style that is.  Seen above in some recent looks from her Harry Potter tour she is obviously an easy A+.  Does she have a stylist? Of course! But I don’t care, if I was a starlet this is exactly how I would dress… fresh, unexpected, polished and full of color.

Catherine Middleton’s Wedding Dress was a smashing success.

Well really… what did you expect? It is after all the modern day fairy tale of our time; we knew she wouldn’t be coming out in something from David’s Bridal.  I have to say that when I first saw this dress on t.v. I wasn’t shocked or amazed, it did look very Grace Kelly, pretty much what I expected.  However, when you get a look at the up close detail you realize just how special this dress is with all of the emasculate lace detailing, fitted sleeves, and sweetheart bodice that fits like a glove. Good job Kate, you make a lovely bride. <3

Grace Coddington’s 70th Vogue Bday Bash.

If you are a fashion docu fan as am I (Seamless, Valentino the last empire, The Sept. Issue etc… ) then you already know and love Grace Coddington, Vogue’s senior fashion director and The September Issue’s obvious protagonist, stylist to the stars and loveable creative. (opposite the cold and yet ever fabulous Anna Wintour) This amazing woman had her 70th! birthday bash, and yes everyone but you, me and my assistant were there. Yes everyone. (that lives in NYC anyway) We wish her a very happy birthday, and may we please have a piece of her cat cake? <3

Blushing Beauties. Oscar’s BEST dressed.

#1 Mila Kunis in Elie Saab

#2 Halle Berry in Marchesa

#3 Hailee Steinfeld in Marchesa

#4 Mandy Moore in Monique lhuillier

While I usually go for the bold golds, greens and reds on the red-carpet this year I DIED for the blushing peaches and nudes. There was lots of delicate chiffon and tool with a hint of sparkle or lace.  Even though Natalie Portman was the Oscar winner, Mila Kunis BY FAR was the leading lady in fashion last night.  I actually felt that everyone looked lovely on the red-carpet, the only dresses that I did NOT like were those of Nicole Kidman, Jackie Weaver and Melissa Leo.
