The Spring 2012 Ready-to-wear Roberto Cavalli collection is a capsule captured with excessive appliques, lace insets and dye cut pieces of chiffon, and mesh. Surprisingly the collection showcased a lot of black and gold for a Spring collection almost as an afterthought to Holiday, but somehow it all made sense and a lot of the black pieces had splashes or insets of hard candy colors such as soft pinks and vibrant tangerines. There were OF COURSE some leopard print pieces and maxi dresses… otherwise it just wouldn’t be a complete Cavalli collection, but ironically leopard print is up trending heavily this season regardless.
Above are some of the best looks, click the images to view in a bigger size… My fav piece: The tiger-print blazer with floral maxi dress… AMAZE.
NO I did not really wear my pj’s to work. Truthfully I don’t even own a real pair of pj’s, or anything pj related that is web appropriate. But when forced with the decision in the morning, to brush my hair or not brush my hair post sleeping through my second “I’m late” alarm clock it’s time to make some quick and hasty fashion decisions. “Will this look good when I’m scowling at my intern?” Or “will this clash with the fall boots I just purchased regardless of the fact that it is indeed NOT fall yet” [I live in CA] This morning I asked my self which outfit closest to me will feel like pajamas? As I was up WAY too late… working. Surprise surprise. WIN* I quickly grabbed my Material Girl leopard jumpsuit which I got at a sample sale for $3 (it fits like an XL pair of McHammer’s pants), flung on my new fall boots, and grabbed my oh so worn Whitley Kros light knit cardi in beige, throwing a matching belt into my Louis Vuitton which I some how assembled in Starbucks. Then I was asked by a friendly barista if I needed help… … getting dressed? Just coffee please, thanks. Surprisingly, this became one of my favorite not planned, half asleep, semi irritated outfits of the year. JOY. And NO… I still have not brushed my hair today… obviously. xo
Ready for a story? It will be at least semi entertaining I promise: Last FNO I had the flu (noooo!) so this time around I was super pumped to go out, dress up and enjoy the overall ambiance that is Fashion’s Night Out! My good friend Steph and I started the night out by attending the Paul Frank red carpet event in Hollywood with our friends Jlo & VB. Needless to say I was running behind as usual and was still adorning my Rambo like headband from the work day, could not find my shark tooth necklace and of course was covered in dog hair… luckily I found a lint roller [THANK GOD]. The PF event was filled with colorful PF adorned decor all over, a henna tattoo station, an open bar that literally had the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted, a clothing station, a candy “bar” and surprisingly a very good dj. MUY BUENO. Did I buy anything? NO! there were gift bags lol besides if I want a crazy monkey printed on my clothing I’ll just tape a photo of Denny the puppy onto my couture and call it a day!
After the event (that we probably would have stayed longer at but it was a million degrees inside) we headed over to the Kitson Party on Robertson where, might I add, I slowly sipped the strongest raspberry vodka concoction I have ever had… eventually retiring it only a 1/4 way devoured and dreaming of a soy latte’. Serious. Passing many boutiques on our way down Robertson, and many many blondes and cute hipster gay boys in faux fur we ended the evening at the Curve boutique event which was pretty much a HUGE dance party in the front room of the store. Perfect? I think so. FNO I heart you.
I found these photos online [Paul Phung London Photog] while fulfilling my morning fashion search addiction… and was blown away. The vibe reminds me some what of what I will be doing for my look book video. Now if you’ll exuse me I’m going to go run along the beach in an ethereal gown. xo
Where are YOU going for Fashion’s Night Out??!!? 1.) Why don’t I live in NYC?? Oh yeah… the weather. 2.) I ❤ you MIUMIU 3.)Couldn’t you just DIE for those shoes. (and yes this is the second time I’ve blogged with photos of those MIUMIU pumps deal with it lol)
